A few waders. Curlew Sandpiper and Dunlin at Durleigh Reservoir and a Knot at Berrow. Knot taken with the 400mm - I'm starting to love this lens again.

Loads of Yellow Wagtails (well, at least 50) at the Huntspill Sea Wall this morning. I looked through them for ages for one that looked like a Citrine, but I didn't even get close.

Now the midsummer doldrums are over I might actually dust the camera off. The Woodchat Shrike at Chipping Sodbury was a great bird. Don't be fooled by the directions to 'park by the first farm buildings'. They're only the first farm buildings if you ignore the other farm buildings that are before them.

This afternoon at the site, the skillful art of walking straight up to the bird with a camera until the bird flies off was admirably demonstrated by some twat who was so clueless of his actions he was totally unaware that I was stood behind him. A sarcastic round of applause didn't even seem to hit the mark. Crickey, this moaning feels good - ought to do it more often!
