We were quite happy to have a day out today, and the prospect of a White-billed Diver at Brixham has us walking around the lovely Brixham harbour in the morning. All this soon changed with the discovery of a Brunnich's Guillemot at Portland harbour. The White-billed Diver got derogated, left unseen, and we started the stressful drive to Portland. Well worth it though, as the Brunnich's showed ridiculously well after a short wait!

The Severn Beach Desert Wheatear showed well this morning, and no - nobody was too close. In fact, the bird was looking so forlourn that most people present felt slightly guilty about photographing it at all! Thankfully, the bird perked up later and apparently became much more active.

The single Snow Bunting on the Huntspill sea wall showed well. They are usually pretty tame, but you need to be patient and not chase it about. The sun even came out for about a minute, which was nice!
