26 September 2010

Little Stint at Huntspill Seawall. They often show very well here for some reason.

19 September 2010

This Glossy Ibis at Avonmouth was only a challenge to photograph in that pointing a 500mm lens at it was a bit overkill.

18 September 2010

Grey Phalarope at Skern, North Devon. Tame or stupid as always, not quite sure. Well worth the trip for bonus Lapland Bunting and Buff-breasted Sandpiper but the latter two were a bit too far away for photos.

16 September 2010

It's taken me about 10 years to see this Ring-billed Gull at Westcliffe-on-Sea. Not that I've been looking for it for 10 years of course, it's just that it's been present for about this many winters. Quite a smart bird and easily fooled by a chocolate croissant, or maybe it was me that was fooled. Damn!

1 September 2010

The Red-backed Shrike from yesterday was still present and showed very well with a bit of field craft and patience. The two White Storks near Sutton Bingham Reservoir were watched feeding before they left (of their own accord!) to the north.
